About DFCU

DFCU was established in 1998 and currently has approximately 700 members. Membership is open to anyone who either lives or works in Dacorum. Our FAQ page has some more information about us and our policies.

Like all Credit Unions we are regulated and monitored  by:
The Prudential Regulation Authority and The Financial Conduct Authority. Our Registration Number in the FCA Mutuals Register is 556C.
We are a member of the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL), and our members’ savings are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Schemem(FSCS) .

We are staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers and managed by a Board of Directors who are also unpaid.

The “Friends of DFCU”  is an organisation which raises funds to help with our expenses and thus increase the dividend we can pay. If you would like to help – let us know.
